Competing at the Youth Club Nationals was an unforgettable experience filled with intense competition, gaining close friendships, and a profound sense of accomplishment. I learned what it takes to compete at a high level of skill, the dedication required to perform at your best, and the team-skills you need to be successful. This high level of competition forced us to grow closer and stronger together to build relationships.

An Experience of Team Perseverance - We were on universe point against a team we won against in the same scenario the previous year. It was a back and forth game with few break points from either team. We suffered an extremely tough loss that day. To make matters worse, it was a team whose jerseys had pigtails on the back, and they would snort whenever they scored a point… not a good look. We had one final game during that tournament, and only a couple hours to bounce back and recover from quite an unfortunate loss. I took this opportunity to change this negative emotion, and turn it into something positive and empowering. As a team, we all took time together to talk about and prepare ourselves to bounce back and keep fighting in another tough game. Words of encouragement, good energy, and the team bonding we experienced, lead to our success in our final game of the weekend. We won 15-13 against a top finisher in the competition. Taking on an extremely skilled and well practiced team after five previous and tiring games proved to be one of the hardest and best experiences I have had as an athlete.
